Traditional blessings on January 1st 2004 at LankaramaIt was another auspicious day at Lankarama. Nearly 1500 devotees visited Lankarama from 6.00am until 9pm on 1st January 2004 to seek the blessings of the Triple Gem for the New Year. The day started at 6.30am with the ‘Atavisi Kiripidu Puja’ at which three Bhantes provided blessings to the attendees. Approximately 100 devotees attended in that morning’s ‘Atavisi Kiripidu Puja’. Bhantes provided blessings to the attendees who flocked to the temple in a continuous stream during the day. Many devotees attended the evening’s ‘Atavisi Gilanpasa Puja’ held at 6.30pm. Lankarama Youth Group organised flower offering to devotees since around 10.00am Also, they organised tea for the attendees. The item that caught the eye of most devotee’s that day was the timber Dome structure of the Lankarama Chethiya reminding us ongoing development of our buddhist community and heritage. We are grateful to the Bhantes for their untiring efforts in providing the blessings sought by the devotees. Our sincere gratitude to everybody who helped us make this event a success. We seek your support in any manner possible to help with the smooth running of the temple. Click here for photos DHAMMA SERMONS HELD AT LANKARAMA DURING VAS SEASON 2003 6.30-8.00 PM July
